Digital Piano Actions:

As one of the world's premier builders of acoustic pianos, Kawai has long understood the vital importance of "feel" to the pianist. For this reason, Kawai has long pioneered the use of real wooden keys in digital piano actions that duplicate both the weight and the mechanical movement of our fine grand pianos.
Kawai's new AWA PRO action takes our wooden-key action to an even higher level. By closely studying the characteristics of our acclaimed EX Concert Piano, Kawai engineers have brought a new level of nuance to our digital piano actions.

Now, the hammer weight is graded from top to bottom to replicate the dynamic weight curve of the EX Concert Piano. Additionally, the bass keys are counter-balanced to create a more even static weight curve. This combination of graded weights and counterbalances give the AWA PRO action a remarkably realistic feel throughout all dynamic ranges. The AWA PRO is found on the MP8 as well as the CA5, CA7, CA9,
CA-X, CP207, CP177 and CP137.

The newest Kawai digital piano action is the Advanced Hammer Action IV with AR Technology. AR stands for '"Acoustic Response" and refers to several technical advances in the AHA IV that help improve overall responsiveness and feel. An improved jack and hammer design provides a more solid and "connected" feeling to the player.
In addition, the software "touch curve" of the action has been re-designed for greater resolution, creating an increased and smoother dynamic range in the sound. The AHA IV is available on the ES4 Portable Digital Piano along with the CN2, CN3, CN4, CP117, CP187 and MP4 Professional Stage Piano.

CONCERT MAGIC: Playing the piano is a dream that most people share. Yet, very few have managed to realize that dream... until now. To help make the dream a reality, Kawai developed Concert Magic ’Äì an exciting new feature that allows everyone, even the non-player, to experience the thrill of playing real music. Concert Magic is an intelligent, interactive system that makes learning and playing songs incredibly easy by using two fundamental elements of music... rhythm and expression.

With Concert Magic you can experience a world of musical songs and styles ’Äì Children's Songs, Christmas Songs, American Classics, Favorite Hymns, Classical Selections, Patriotic Songs, International Songs and music for Special Occasions.
Most Kawai digital pianos have the Concert Magic Feature. The CA and CP Series models feature the Concert Magic Note Navigator system... a visual guide which assists you through each song. Additionally, the CP Series models (except the CP67) also contain the lyrics to many of the Concert Magic songs. Just follow the bouncing ball for hours of Karaoke fun.

NEW! HYMN PLAYER FEATURE - 88 classic hymns of built-in.
Exceptional Sounds: Concert Artist digital pianos feature dozens of exceptional instrumental sounds. In addition to pianos and electric pianos, you'll find lush strings, bold pipe organs and crisp drawbar organs, along with harpsichords, basses... even vocal and guitar sounds on selected models. Any two sounds can be combined in a Layer or Split for even more sonic possibilities.

Added Realism: Three special functions further enhance the CA Series' incredibly realistic piano sound. String Resonance causes held notes to resonate in "sympathy" with other held notes' upper harmonics. Damper Resonance occurs when the damper pedal is depressed, causing notes that are sympathetic with one another to resonate, as well as notes that are adjacent to one another. Finally, there is the Note Release effect which re-creates the sound of bass hammers returning to their strings after a rapid note release.
Virtual Technician: Each CA instrument possesses a unique set of adjustment tools within the Virtual Technician feature. You'll find Kawai's exclusive Virtual Voicing, capable of digitally "voicing" the piano sound. There are also controls for adjusting the action's Touch, String and Damper Resonance, as well as several other piano-specific settings.
Built-in Practice and Lesson Songs : For the aspiring pianist, Kawai has provided a recorded collection of standard practice and warm-up drills, including major and minor scales, arpeggios and Hanon exercises. A music book containing all the drills is included with your instrument. And for the beginner, we've included the first-year lesson songs from Alfred Publishing's Basic Piano Library, Adult Piano Course and the new Premier Piano course. You can play along with any of the pre-recorded songs and drills, adjust the tempo, mute either hand and even compare your recorded performance to the built-in professional performance.
Piano Music: Concert Artist digital pianos contain built-in Classical Piano Music. Simply select any song and press Play for up to two hours of musical enjoyment. It's perfect for entertaining family and friends, or for a relaxing quiet evening at home.
